| Description |
Large, Level I teaching hospital in southern Wisconsin.
Great cultural city!
Hospital needs Travel RNs to work in the Peds Oncology unit.
Start ASAP.
Chemo certification and PALS preferred, but not required.
2 years of acute care experience required.
Must have 1 year experience as a Traveler in an Academic Level 1 Trauma Center.
Arrhythmia Identification test will be given (86% min.
required to pass).
Shifts are 12-hr day/night rotation.
Exact schedule can be discussed in more detail in the phone interview.
Official Unit Description: Nurses on this 28-bed unit care for children ages six to eighteen, included on the unit is a ten-bed all-age pediatric hematology/oncology/immunology unit.
Nurses care for children and adolescents requiring intervention for complex medical and surgical disorders including cystic fibrosis, orthopedic surgery, neurological disorders, childhood cancers, bone marrow transplantation, organ transplantation, and the need for rehabilitation.
The nursing staff on this unit creates an environment that fosters opportunities for normal growth and development through school and daily recreation programs, open visitation for parents, siblings, relatives and friends, rooming-in for a family member who wants to stay overnight.
Nurses facilitate active participation of patients and family members in treatment and care.
In addition, the area's only approved hospital school is housed adjacent to this unit.
