Unit has 33 patient care areas, combining beds, stretchers, and recliner chairs. This short stay unit provides care for AM Admits (day of surgery admits), outpatients, and limited (overnight) stays. Requires strong Med-Surg skills and cardiac telemetry experience. Strong IV skills required. Outpatient procedures include IV therapy, PICC insertions, pre-procedure assessment and preparation, post-procedural recovery and patient-family teaching for discharge. Limited stay patients may be either medical or surgical patients with anticipated length of stay of less than 24 hours. Limited telemetry monitoring is available. 1 position – mostly 8 and 12 hr days M-F, some shifts 1100-1930 and 8 hr Sat shift every other weekend.
