Perianesthesia Nurse
Traveling nurses in the field of Perianesthesia Nursing provide aid and care for patients awakening from anesthesia after surgery. The specialty includes scrub nurses (who work first-hand with surgeons, delivering instruments and supplies to them while in the sterile field), circulating nurses (who practice outside the sterile field), and RN first assistants (who carry-out direct surgical care). These nurses must prep patients for surgery, watch them closely while under anesthesia, and assist them in their progression to responsiveness, and prepares patients for discharge from the PACU. These nurses may have additional expertise with PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) or ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support). Talk with a Recruiter about a travel Cardiac Cath Lab Nursing job.
