Many thanks and congrats to the April 2019 Traveler of the Month, Allana C. and also our Rising Star winner, Kristin W.!
Traveler of the Month Allana, an RN who specializes in Interventional Radiology, has more than 11 years of experience in nursing and one year of travel nursing. She works with Career Consultant Elise Phillips, and she is currently on assignment in Boston, Massachusetts.
So far, Boston tops her list of favorite assignments. Plus, Allana thinks the best part about the travel nursing gig is that it gives her the flexibility and freedom to live her life.
“When I’m not working, I take time off to volunteer all over the world,” she says. “[Travel nursing] allows me the freedom to pursue my passion projects without interruptions.”
Allana has the following advice for first-time Travelers.
“Be open-minded and flexible,” she says. “Every place has a different culture and rhythm. Take the time to get to know the people and places. Also, the first couple of weeks are always a little tough while you are learning the ropes, so don’t get discouraged. It gets better and becomes so very rewarding!”

Rising Star of the Month Kristin W. is a Physical Therapy Assistant. She is currently on assignment in Rome, Georgia. Her Career Consultant Rachel Myers thinks Kristin really knocked her first travel assignment out of the park.
“She will be extending her current contract since they [the facility] love her so much!” Rachel says. “Kristin is kind, has a great sense of humor, and is a great professional. We are so lucky to have her representing Medical Solutions!”
