A LITTLE ABOUT MEHowdy! Glenda said it was always best to start at the beginning, so...
I was born in a town in Indiana so small that the directions to get there include "go down the road a piece, cross over the railroad tracks, and it's just right there". The folks loaded up the car and came to Cincinnati when I was very young and I lived here until 1990 when I moved to Florida and joined the Marines (Semper Fi!). From there I was stationed in Quantico VA, just south of DC for 4 years, got to check out the FBI academy and the Pentagon - very cool. After that I headed west to Phoenix for a year, then back home. By the way, anyone who says "but it's a DRY heat" is nutso, 125 degrees is ALWAYS GONNA BE HOT! Now I fly around just for fun and play amateur tour guide for my travelers, collecting postcards from the awesome places they get to see! I've personally been to two Hawaiian islands, Cancun, Boston, Detroit, Chicago, New Orleans, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Philly, and a few other places. I have a degree in Culinary Arts and Business, love to cook for my family and friends, and make a game out of making the recipes I enjoy healthier (so I can eat more - ha!). I have one son, he turned 24 this summer and he is without exception the BEST human being I know, which says a lot if you know my Dad who has an S on his chest and a cape flying off the back of his truck. I talk to Dad every day on my way home from work so if I don't answer your call on my cell between 5:00-5:30, that's why. I'm a dog lover, had a JRT named Fred who passed away recently, he was almost 15.
That's me in a nutshell! If you wanna know more, you're gonna have to call. :)
I knew within 5 minutes of talking to Denise that she was the recruiter for me. She listened to what I wanted in an assignment and did her utmost to fulfill that for me. She was honest about all the pros and cons of a job and works tirelessly to make sure that I'm being taken care of while I'm on assignment. Denise and I may have started off as recruiter and nurse, but now we're also friends. She will call just to check on me, making sure that an assignment is going well. She'll often send me emails letting me know what is happening in the area I'm in, encouraging me to go out exploring. But most of all, Denise makes sure that I get the kind of experience that I'm looking for as a travel nurse.- Larry B
Hello. My name is Teresa. I have been travel nursing for almost 7 years at the time of this writing. Denise Pottorf has been my recruiter for more than 6 years. She has always been very pleasant, very accommodating and very attentive to my wishes and needs. Denise far exceeded the role of a recruiter during a very difficult time for me and my family. While I was on an assignment, Denise made it possible for me to be home with my mother during the last of her time with us. There are no words that can express how much my family and I treasured that opportunity. I was on contract 2000 miles from home, and only because of Denise’s tremendous efforts within a matter of hours, could I hold my mother’s hand as she died. I will NEVER forget what Denise did (and has done) for me. Denise has listened patiently to my most joyous times as well as my most trying times with true caring. We have shared ups and downs with each other. I am truly honored that Denise is not only my recruiter, but also my dear friend. I have complete faith in her guidance and words of comfort, professionally and personally. Denise Pottorf is, in my opinion, the PLATINUM standard of what a recruiter should be.
