Georgia is home to about 175 hospitals — 13 of which are ranked based on high standards from U.S. News & World Report. That includes Atlanta’s Emory University Hospital, which U.S. News & World Report ranked #1 among top hospitals in the state of Georgia. Rounding out the top six overall hospitals in Georgia are: Atlanta’s Emory St. Joseph’s Hospital, Macon’s Navicent Health Medical Center, Gainesville’s Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Augusta’s University Hospital, and Marietta’s WellStar Kennestone Hospital.

In 2017, U.S. News & World Report ranked Georgia the #36 overall state on their first-ever “Best States” list, based on criteria including economy, education, government, health care, crime & corrections, infrastructure, and opportunity. The report also ranked Georgia #14 among the top states for economy and #15 for government.

Centennial Park

Okefenokee Swamp
The Okefenokee Swamp is an enchanting ecosystem and a great place to go adventuring.

In addition to serving up southern hospitality, Georgia knows how to serve up some delicious food! Although they’re perfect right off the tree, you haven’t lived until you’ve had a Georgia peach cobbler! Wanna walk all of that southern-fried goodness off? Georgia is home to 76 miles of the Appalachian Trail as well as famous outdoors spots like Stone Mountain, Lookout Mountain, and Okefenokee Swamp.

Amicalola Falls State Park, Indian Springs, Arabia Mountain, Springer Mountain, and Providence Canyon State Park are a few well-known places to absorb all of Georgia’s scenic glory!
