What is short-term disability insurance?
This benefit offers you financial protection should you be in an accident and suffer a disabling injury. If you are hurt and cannot work you will be paid cash benefits directly so that you can continue paying your bills and/or paying for medical costs. The benefits are paid directly to you on a monthly basis and you can choose to use that money however you need!
What is long-term disability insurance?
This insurance policy can protect you from the loss of income in the event that you are unable to work due to illness, injury, or accident for a long period of time. These monthly payments will be made directly to you and there are no restrictions on how you may use this money.
What is critical illness insurance?
This benefit will help protect you financially should you be diagnosed with a critical illness. Cash benefits are paid to you in the event you are diagnosed with a covered critical illness, and you can use that money to cover your out of pocket costs however you see fit. These benefits are also available for your spouse and/or child(ren).
What is accident insurance?
This benefit offers you financial protection should you face an unexpected accident. If you are in an accident and incur hefty costs as a result, this benefit offers gap protection to cover out-of-pocket expenses due to unforeseen events, a lump-sum payment made directly to you, and the option to spend the benefit as you see fit — whether that’s on medical equipment, daily expenses, bills, or caregiving assistance.
What is hospital indemnity insurance?
This benefit helps reduce the financial impact of unexpected health-related events by providing income and gap protection to cover out-of-pocket expenses and lost wages, a lump-sum payment made directly to you, and the option to spend the benefit as you see fit, whether that’s on medical equipment, daily expenses, bills, or caregiving assistance.
What is life insurance?
The benefit helps financially protect your loved ones in the event of your death by providing a lump-sum payment to your beneficiaries. Your family will have the ability to spend the money however they wish. Please note that you may need to provide evidence of insurability to apply for this policy.
What is pet insurance?
This benefit helps you provide quality care to your pets, no matter the cost, by providing access to any licensed veterinarian in the world, depending on the chosen vendor, and group rates and discounts for pet medical expenses like surgeries, lab fees, routine care, and treatments.
When and how do I enroll?
Like your medical, dental, and vision benefits, you have 14 days from the start of your contract to make your elections with a day-one effective date. Simply contact your Career Consultant to start the enrollment process.
When does coverage begin?
Coverage begins the first day of your contract.
What is the cost for each of the voluntary benefits?
Depending upon which voluntary benefit you are interested in, the premium rates vary based on your age, the amount and level of coverage you choose, and other such factors. To get a full breakdown of current rates, please contact your Career Consultant who can provide you with rate information for the voluntary benefits you are interested in.

How often will the premiums be deducted from my pay?
The premiums for these voluntary benefits will be deducted weekly.
Are these policies portable if I take a break from traveling with Medical Solutions?
Well, we sure would miss you! But yes, another great thing about these policies is that they are completely portable and you can take them with you. If you do leave Medical Solutions, you will receive a conservation letter from the provider which will direct you in the next steps to maintain your policy.
