A hospital in California is looking for an experienced Respiratory Therapist for a travel contract. The right candidate will have 3 full years of experience, hold an active BLS, ACLS, NRP, PALS, and CA License. Make sure to ask if they already have Cerner experience & if so, was this recent? They can comp test out of Cerner training. Yes 4 weekend shifts out of a 4 week schedule Work into the perm staff rotation Black. Shirt under scrub top must be white or black Servo I & oscillators Yes Yes If the census is low, they would put 2 people on standby. 12's 6 - 6:30 Usually staff 8-9 RTs per shift. If they have a child on the vent or oscillator staffing could be higher up to 12 depending on acuity levels etc… All inpatient units & possibly ER; however to be eligible to work ER must have NICU & PICU experience. 2-3 shifts due to multiple areas they would be expected to cover As per each unit Vents, high flow, IPPB (Intermittent Positive Pressure Breathing), Would consider RT without NICU & PICU as long as they strong adult critical care experience. The hospital will let us know if the candidate for the assignment has to have PICU or NICU experience. Must participate in multidisciplinary rounds. Must be able to intubate unless the intensivist is right there to do it. Assess comfort level intubating & what ages/patient populations.
