Start Date:

Job Number

Job Description

Travel ICU/TCU (Stepdown) RN is needed to start ASAP for a 13 week assignment in a very fast paced ICU & TCU in a Hospital located in Indiana. There are 2 units. A 14 bed ICU and an 8 bed TCU which is a stepdown unit. Staff for critical care cover both units. Ratio for ICU is 1:1,2 or 3 depending on the patient acuity. Ratio for the TCU & for MedSurg hold patients is 4:1. Shifts consist of 6:45am-7:15pm for a total of 72 hours guaranteed every 2 weeks and they will work every other weekend. The ICU is more of a medical ICU than surgical. BLS & ACLS are required. CCRN would be a PLUS! They do not do open hearts. This is primarily post PCI, AICD, pacemakers, NSTEMI, CHF and arrhythmias. The primary service lines are cardiac and pulmonary, a lot of vents. The surgical patients are primarily vascular and thoracic. General surgeries are because of co-morbidities, not necessarily the surgical procedure itself. Their Holiday policy: They work one summer holiday & 3 out of the 6 winter holidays. Holidays can be negotiated on an individual basis. They use Allscripts EMR system, Hospira IV pumps, AccuDose for medications, & Spacelab Tele monitors. Familiarity with IABP, CRRT, & therapeutic hypothermia is a plus, but Travel RNs will not take these patients. Would also consider a strong Stepdown RN to only work in TCU, as long as they have the ability to titrate IV medications to include: Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Nitro, Dopamine, etc. This is one of the most popular states to travel in with lots of things to do and beautiful scenery. This position won't be open long. Great Benefits and Pay! Please call Medical Solutions at (866) 633-3548 to speak with a Career Consultant regarding this travel assignment!
