I want to travel to GA- where my kids are, and possibly NYC where my girlfriend is. I am an RN – getting my BSN – studying now. I have heard that getting another states license is daunting. Is there a service that will do all the paperwork for me?

Licensure and endorsements can be daunting, but it’s not really something you can farm out.
There might possibly be companies that will help you with this, but honestly, I’m the type that might not want to trust such an important issue to anyone but myself. Showing up for an assignment with the promise that they have “taken care of everything” only to find out they didn’t, could get you into some hot water with the state board as well as possibly being very costly financially should you have to return home when the hospital cancels your contract due to license issues.
Additionally, many states now require fingerprints cards, which is obviously something you will have to take care of yourself. While the process might take a while, most of that is not on your end, it is within the board where there is a back-up. Some states will certainly be easier than others when it comes to licensure and you should also find out if you are in a state that is part of the NLC (compact licensure). Bottom line, if you can pass your boards, you can work your way through the various state licensure requirements without too much hassle. ALWAYS contact the board themselves for this process. Many recruiters can be helpful along the way, but the MOST reliable info comes straight from the boards.Hope this helps.
