How You Can Help
As a camp nurse, you play a crucial role in ensuring the campers just get to be carefree kids in a safe and supportive environment.
That means you’ll be managing medical care needs, activity adaptations, and providing support for camp staff to ensure campers can participate in camp life in a medically sound way. You’ll also provide direct nursing care to campers, and collaborate with physicians, camp staff, counselors, and volunteers (medical and non-medical) to ensure that campers receive the highest quality care and a transformative camp experience.
Being a camp nurse isn’t just about making memories with the kids and giving them the opportunity to have worry-free fun—it’s a break from the stress and burnout of hospital-based roles. A chance to refresh, reset, and experience the joys and nostalgia of summer camp, and return to your regular roles reenergized.
Where You Can Help
Today, there are 30 camps and programs serving the needs of children and families around the world, and nine of these camps are in the U.S. from coast to coast!
All camp nurses live on-site while the camp is in session and are provided with cabin accommodations. Each camp’s accommodations might vary as some camps may require nurses to stay in cabins with campers overnight to provide nursing care on a regular/semi-regular basis as needed.
