How to Get Started as Travel Allied Healthcare Professional and What to Expect
Simply apply here. You can also call us at 1.866.633.3548 and speak with a recruiter, who can send you an info packet or answer any of your questions. All you need to do is start your application and send your resume. We’ll begin discussing possible assignments that best fit your profile once we have all your information. If you see a job you want, your recruiter will submit your information for the job and take you through the process step by step.
No. All of the information you send remains confidential and we need your permission before submitting your resume to a potential client. That way you have the opportunity to explore options and choose the best assignment for you before signing a contract.
There’s no fee! We’re paid by the hospital or healthcare facility. If you decide to travel with us, you’ll be a Medical Solutions employee and we’ll pay you.
Assignments are typically 13 to 24 weeks, but we have some assignments that are shorter. You are required to finish assignment per your contract agreement, but there you don’t have to work more assignments after. It’s up to you whether you want to take a new assignment or take a break.
After you’ve gone through the interview process for the position, and both you and the healthcare facility decide it’s a good fit, it usually takes one to six weeks to hear back. This also depends on when you’re available and the start date of the assignment. Thirty days after you’re done with your current assignment, we will send you open assignments.
Your recruiter will contact you before your assignment is up and talk about new travel opportunities with you. But it is your choice whether you want to extend your assignment (if an extension is offered), take a new assignment, switch to full time, or simply take a break. Start exploring new jobs here.
There are tons of awesome benefits to being a travel healthcare professional! For starters, it’s a great way to develop new skills and it looks fantastic on a resume! Compensation and Benefits
If you are injured on the job and it’s an emergency, you should call 911 or go to the nearest ER. However, if your injury is not an emergency, you must contact Conduent at 844-975-3471 prior to getting treatment. Conduent is a 24/7 injury service that provides an immediate assessment from a registered nurse (RN) to accurately examine the severity of the injury and suggest the best course of action. Once you get a referral for medical treatment, Conduent will send a report of injury to us and we will do the work to file a workers’ compensation claim with our claim administrator, CCMSI. Our Work Comp team will then send you an email with your claim information and any further questions.
Pay rates vary from assignment to assignment depending on location, the hospital, your specialty, and other factors. Plus, your compensation package — including your hourly pay, benefits, bonuses, reimbursements, etc. — is completely customized to your lifestyle.
You will be paid weekly via direct deposit. Most travelers use their primary bank for direct deposit to avoid any issues of locating a new bank for every assignment.
We believe that every traveler is different and one inflexible program can’t fit everyone’s individual compensation goals. That’s why you get to customize your pay package to fit your unique needs and lifestyle.
Your pay package is:
- Customized to fit your needs
- Simple to understand
- One of the best in the travel healthcare industry
Whether you want to focus on hourly pay, stipends, bonuses, or per diem, your recruiter will take the time to figure out what’s important for you, and then put together a package for you that outlines each item clearly.
