Medical Solutions, the nation’s third-largest Travel Nurse staffing company, headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska, has earned its seventh-straight recertification from The Joint Commission. Since January 2005 — when Medical Solutions became one of the first staffing companies to receive the Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval™ — the Travel Nurse company has continuously exemplified Joint Commission standards.
The Joint Commission conducted an on-site, unannounced evaluation of Medical Solutions’ Omaha office on October 8, 2014, and its San Diego office on October 10, 2014. This recertification recognizes that Medical Solutions’ policies and procedures continue in agreement with The Joint Commission’s standards. With this confirmation that Medical Solutions is in compliance with The Joint Commission’s national standards for health care quality and safety, the agency has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval™ through 2016.
“Quality is the backbone of everything we do at Medical Solutions, and this recertification is a huge endorsement of our approach,” says Medical Solutions CEO Craig Meier. “We appreciate The Joint Commission’s evaluation, as well their commitment to quality throughout the healthcare staffing industry.”
The 2014 recertification means that Medical Solutions has met or exceeded several key aspects of the inspection process, such as methods for verifying the credentials and competence of healthcare staff. Certification also encompasses standards in leadership, human resources, performance measurement and improvement, and information management.
“It’s extremely gratifying for Medical Solutions to earn this recertification,” says Amber Barna, BSN, RN, Clinical Director of Nursing at Medical Solutions. “It definitely demonstrates that our processes and emphasis on quality and safety are effective, credible, and well-aligned with The Joint Commission’s expectations and standards.”
