Medical Solutions Sponsors Planet Water Foundations Project 24 on World Water Day

News & Announcements

Medical Solutions, the nation’s third-largest Travel Nurse staffing company, is proud to sponsor Planet Water Foundation’s Project 24 on World Water Day, Sunday, March 22, 2015.

Established in 1993, World Water Day is an opportunity to celebrate water and make a positive impact in the lives of global community members who suffer from water-related issues.

In response to staggering statistics like the fact that every 24 hours 4000 children die from water-related illnesses, the mission of Project 24 is “to move the hands of time forward in 24 impoverished communities by installing and commissioning 24 clean water filtration systems in just 24 hours.”

“As a healthcare professional, I am very impressed by Planet Water’s life-saving efforts,” says Amber Barna, BSN, RN and Clinical Director of Nursing and Medical Solutions. “The availability of clean water within a community is absolutely crucial to preventing waterborne diseases that could otherwise result in illness and/or death.”

At 2 p.m. (EST) on Sunday, March 22, the Medical Solutions-sponsored clean water filtration system will go up at the Watslatromchey Primary School in the Cambodian village of Preah Kau, providing access to clean water for bathing, cooking, and cleaning to 122 students, 145 households, and 794 other beneficiaries in the small, rural village.

“Our team is extremely proud to support Project 24,” says Craig Meier, CEO at Medical Solutions. “The work Planet Water is doing aligns perfectly with Medical Solutions’ ethos in terms of promoting service that inspires, health and well-being, and, above all, a genuine commitment to improving people’s lives. We are in awe of the positive impacts that result from Planet Water’s mission. The organization makes a major difference on both an individual and a global level, and we are so pleased to be a part of fostering these efforts.”
