Who’s Treated in the CVOR?
Patients who visit the cardiovascular operating room are, as the name suggests, there for cardiovascular surgery, also often referred to as open-heart surgery. So, the patients have some type of cardiovascular ailment, condition, or emergency that has necessitated their cardiovascular surgery. These patients can either be very ill and/or really depending on their surgeries to give them new life — so the stakes are very high in this unit.
